The Junior Academy is where the Farham Academy journey truly begins for most players. Designed for children aged 8 to 11, this program strikes the perfect balance between structured football development and age-appropriate fun. We firmly believe that enjoyment is the most important ingredient in long-term player development — and the Junior Academy is built around that philosophy.
Sessions take place twice per week and are led by experienced, child-focused coaches who understand how young players learn and grow. The curriculum covers the core technical skills of the game — passing, dribbling, receiving, shooting, and defending — while introducing players to basic tactical concepts through small-sided games and match situations.
Just as importantly, the Junior Academy develops the social and emotional side of football. Players learn how to be good teammates, how to handle winning and losing, and how to push themselves beyond their comfort zone in a safe and supportive environment. Many of the players currently in our Elite Development Program started their journey right here in the Junior Academy.
No previous experience is required to join. All you need is enthusiasm, a pair of boots, and a willingness to learn.
